As the Chair of African American and African Diaspora Studies at Columbia, I write to invite you to be our faculty honoree at our annual AAADS Administrators/Faculty/Sankofa Prize dinner. This event will be on April 8 at 5:30 – 8p at the Betty and Malcolm X Shabazz Memorial and Educational Center on 3940 Broadway, NY, NY 10032. This gathering of faculty, administrators, staff, students, and alumni will honor your years as IRAAS/AAADS faculty and acknowledge your immense contributions to our Black Studies community at Columbia and beyond. Dr. Kellie Jones has agreed to introduce you and moderate a conversation (10-15 minutes) about how your artistic practice has been a rich impactful Black study. This recognition includes an honorarium of $1000.
