Arroz, Feijao, Carne e Abobarinha Italiana

Arroz (Rice) – Put diced onions and minced garlic in a pan with some butter and fry until brown. Wash a cup of rice and brown in pan together with the garlic and onions. Then add a pot of hot water to this mixture and allow to cook until dry (about ten minutes).

Feijao (Kidney Beans) – Put beans in a pot and let soak for 2 hours or longer. Pour off the water and add fresh water. Cook over a low fire for about 25 minutes. Add diced fried onions, mince garlic and some bay leaves and cook for another 10 minutes.

Bife (Sirloin Steak) – Soak cuts of beef in a mixture of diced onion, minced garlic, and oil or butter for 20 minutes or longer (24 hours). Then fry in frying pan.

Aboborarinha Italiana (Squash) – Wash and cut squash into small pieces. Cook for about 5 minutes in a pan with little water and add salt and black pepper.

There you have it, a simple but delicious nutritious dish.
