Apolo – Born in 1948 in Bata (Equatorial Guinea) to a Bubi mother and Ndowe father, Apolo finished his primary schooling in Bata and was then exposed to art in Spain where he completed secondary education. He spent 44 years in Spain where he got married and fathered a son and a daughter. While in Europe he survived chiefly through his art work, traveling to France, Belgium and the Netherlands. He uses acrylic and oil to produce florals, riverscapes, seascapes, portraits, and ethnic canvases. He returned to Malabo, he says, because he was getting old and wanted to die in his native land.
