Malaysian fruits

Malaysia boasts a vibrant array of tropical fruits, with iconic seasonal favorites like Durian (the “King of Fruits”), sweet Rambutan, juicy Mangosteen (the “Queen of Fruits”), fragrant Cempedak, and tangy Snake Fruit (Salak), alongside year-round staples such as BananasPapayasGuavas, and Pineapples, offering diverse tastes from creamy to tart. Popular Seasonal & Exotic Fruits:

  • Durian: Infamous for its pungent aroma but beloved for its rich, custardy flesh.
  • Mangosteen: Sweet, tangy white segments with a soft, juicy texture.
  • Rambutan: Red, hairy exterior with sweet, translucent flesh, similar to lychee.
  • Cempedak: A fragrant cousin of jackfruit, often enjoyed fried or fresh.
  • Snake Fruit (Salak): A crunchy, sweet, and slightly acidic fruit with a scaly skin.
  • Langsat/Duku/Dokong: Small, sweet, translucent-fleshed fruits often grouped together.
  • Pulasan: Similar to rambutan but with shorter, blunt spines.
  • Longan: “Dragon’s eye” fruit, small and sweet with a single seed. 

Common & Year-Round Fruits:

I´´ve tried these this month (January) and have found all to be succulent. My favorie three are mangosteen, rambutan and baby mango.
